Zwolle has the largest automated distribution center for online retail in the world. Wehkamp has invested more than € 100 million to meet the growing demand for online retail. With this new distribution center it is possible to have items ready for shipment to the customer within 30 minutes of ordering.
Thousands of posts form the basis for this major investment. EKAL and the partners of this project have ensured a good foundation, so that Wehkamp can be sure that it can continue to measure up to the rest of the world. No challenge is too big for EKAL. This project is convincing proof of this. Wehkamp can now process 12,350 articles per hour, which equates to a total processing of 61 million articles per year. 80,000 parcels can be sent daily in this system.
